As mentioned a few weeks ago, The Farmer Restaurant located in the historic Pleasanton Hotel has closed. The new venue will be called Handles on Main, a pub style restaurant serving american comfort food. Steering away from the typical bar food, the menu will have an emphasis on seasonal and local ingredients. Even with 30 micro brews on tap and selection of local wines, the concept is gearing towards a family friendly crowd.
Ocean Bliss is finally opened a few weeks back. The sushi restaurant is located in the same building as Comerica Bank, just tucked back on Division Street, across from Downtown Yoga.
Speaking of Downtown Yoga, they have expanded! Did you notice the new Main Street storefront next to Savvy Seconds?
Domus will be re-opening their doors in the coming months. After two years of darkness, the store will once again be supplying home & kitchen merchandise.
What about the new “For Lease” sign on Pass Time Pool at 511 Main Street? A few years back the tenant renewed the lease on a short-term base (2 or so years). I would suspect, that lease is now up and the owner is shopping the market for a potentially higher paying tenant. Rumor is that the old building is in need of repair, furthermore, a change of use and/or construction permits pulled through the city would trigger additional work to bring the building to code. All of this adds up to a lot of dollars. To make matters worse, in previous years, the landlord wasn’t looking to pony up any cash to make a deal. Keep in mind this is somewhat speculative…
Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau will be moving from their office on the second floor above Tully’s Coffee. The office space is being offered for lease at $3.25 per square foot, per month full service. The space is 2,576 square feet with 3 private offices and a conference room. Great space with an ideal location on Main Street.
